Breaking a Guinness World Record for the highest theatrical performance at 37,000ft

What We Did
April 23rd 2014 marked the 450th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s birth and to commemorate this historic date, easyJet, the UK’s largest airline, wanted to lend its support to the campaign to create a ‘National Shakespeare Day’ on the date of his birth.

To launch the campaign on the 2nd April, easyJet enlisted the oldest ‘William Shakespeare’ in the UK and unveiled a bespoke Shakespeare plane at London Gatwick airport.

On April 23rd easyJet collaborated with The Reduced Shakespeare Company to attempt to break a Guinness World Record for the ‘highest theatrical performance at 37,000ft. They completed a performance of his complete works during a flight to Verona, Italy.
